Questo fine settimana finalmente la spiaggia di Donnalucata è stata pulita tutta! Non solo il bagnasciuga, ma tutta la spiaggia nella sua interezza, con rimozione di detriti, pietre, vetri, cespugli di spine, ecc.ecc.
Il nuovo sindaco di Scicli si è fatto carico della cosa. Ecco il servizio di Mediterraneo News.
E’ stata rilasciata da pochi giorni la distribuzione Linux Zenwalk 5.2.

«What’s new or improved in Zenwalk 5.2?
The Zenwalk 5.2 release includes nearly 500 changes to software packages including a broad sweeping number of updated software, bug fixes and enhanced replacements for some software. Notable updates include the Linux kernel version 2.6.25.4 and the Xfce Desktop 4.4.2.
An Improved package manager: Netpkg “new generation” is now at version 4 and has been completely rewritten in Perl-GTK. This new version introduces many Improvements: better layout, treelike view of packages, many help pop-ups, ultra-intuitive user interface, automatic colorization of icons depending on the status of each package; full internationalization of the user interface; real-time recursive dependency computing, and full-text search.
Improved Multimedia support: Mplayer is now provided with the latest dvdnav (DVD menus support). The Brasero CD/DVD burning software has now completely replaced the nautilus-cd-burner and comes with many new features. Zenwalk also now ships with the latest version of the Pidgin Instant messaging client, Gtkam photo viewing software and version 2.4.6 of the GIMP which provides a complete set of tools for both the hobbiest and professional digital artists alike.
Refined system power usage: Suspend and resume functions have been improved.
The beautiful and well polished XFCE desktop has been refreshed with new artwork.
The Xorg Xserver is at a mature version 7.3 and includes the latest stable versions of all related software and drivers, including new support for blue-tooth input devices.»
Personalmente ho smesso di usarla quando ha cominciato ad allontanarsi troppo dalla Slackware, da cui è derivata. Hanno deviato dalle logiche di semplicità e schematicità che fanno della Slackware la migliore distribuzione, e hanno anche deciso di sostituire alcuni pacchetti software con altri equivalenti ma indubbiamente meno affermati.
Tuttavia può ancora essere interessante per chi vuole installare un sistema desktop di buon livello senza doversi per forza buttare su Ubuntu o Fedora, e senza addentrarsi nei meandri della compilazione dai sorgenti tipica di Gentoo o Sabayon.
