Squirrelmail Integration

views

I have realized Squirrelmail integration into the portal in a beta version. Squirrelmail is our traditional webmail system. This means I have matched color theme and graphics, and it’s possible to log into webmail from the portal. There is no relationship between portal userid/pass and those used in mail, therefore when you log into webmail you have to insert userid and pass again.

What is the LoneStar Network

views

“LoneStar Network” is the rather pompous name that I gave to my small home network.

Having always been a computer maniac, one of my dreams was to own many rare and once pricey machines, all able to run the various flavours of Unix operating system.

So when I started to earn money I bought on eBay a Digital Alpha server, an HP workstation with PaRisc processor, a Sun workstation, an old IBM Risc/6000 system.

Having them all up and running with public internet services was an appealing thought, but also too expensive. Also I have to admit that a modern x86 PC is faster than all of them together, and gives less headaches about configuration and compatibility. So at present time the only machines running are the Alpha server, my personal Windows workstation and the new Linux server, hosting most of services: DNS, mail, websites.

Multilanguage site

views

I’ve just finished implementing multilanguage support for the site!
By means of a simple module it’s possible to make pages available in more than one language, and let users choose which they want.
Since I know much people from abroad, because of the many years I’ve spent chatting online, I think it’s fair making this portal readable for them too!
